Atlas History
More than a hundred years ago, our founder, Frederick Schroeder, began Atlas' tradition of responsibility and leadership. Steadfast devotion to his principles was the driving force behind the design and construction of our recently completed 5,000 sq. ft. research and development, quality control and tanning laboratory. In the pilot tanning area, significant results have already occurred in experimental tanning, evaluation of new products and developmental work with wet blue stock. This success has been made possible, in large part, by the installation of three stainless steel, fully automated Dose tanning drums; a dry mill; and an automatic temperature-controlled toggling and paste drying unit. Additionally, we've installed new state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation that permits liquid and gas chromatography for quality control and research applications.. Atlas is addressing environmental safety issues by the allocation of some of our laboratory's resources to the development of a line of highly exhaustive and low V.O.C.- containing fatliquors. Today, Frederick Schroeder's descendants are still following his principles. Thus, Atlas is fully prepared to provide the leather and textile industries with world- class fatliquors and auxiliaries well into the 21st Century. Atlas Business Vision
